  18. When the number of mouse or keyboard events buffered internally by the
  19. driver in nonpaged pool memory is too low, one of the following error
  20. messages gets logged in the Event Viewer:

  32. Both of the above error messages have the following description:
  33.  
  34.    The ring buffer that stores incoming mouse data has overflowed (buffer
  35.    size is configurable through the Registry).
  36.  
  37. RESOLUTION
  38. ==========
  39.  
  40. WARNING: Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause
  41.          serious, system-wide problems that may require you to
  42.          reinstall Windows NT to correct them. Microsoft cannot
  43.          guarantee that any problems resulting from the use of
  44.          Registry Editor can be solved. Use this tool at your own
  45.          risk.

  47. Use the Registry Editor (REGEDT32.EXE) to edit the following entry:

  49. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Services/i8042prt/Parameters
  50.  
  51. Make the value for KeyboardDataQueueSize and/or MouseDataQueueSize
  52. larger.
  53.  
  54. NOTE: The default value for both of these is 64.
  55.  
  56. The above service (i8042prt) name may vary, depending the type of
  57. mouse you are using.
